Bio: 

James K. Zimmerman is a native of Illinois, although he has lived his adulthood in New York City and nearby. After a career as a singer/songwriter, producer, arranger, and performer, he received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the City University of New York. His dissertation won the Joseph A. Barmack Award for excellence in clinical research. His edited volume, "Treatment Approaches With Suicidal Adolescents", was published by John Wiley & Sons (1995). His book of poetry, "Little Miracles", is published by Passager Books (2015), and "Family Cookout" (Comstock Review Press, 2016) is the winner of the Jessie Bryce Niles Chapbook Award. He has read his poetry in many venues, including Poet's House, KGB, The Cornelia Street Café, Amherst College, San Jose State University, and LIU/Post.
