Bio: 

A former teacher (1964-2008),Ron Singer trawls the genres: poetry, fiction, satire, journalism and opera (librettos). Among the venues for his work have been Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Evergreen Review, The Georgia Review, Grey Sparrow, Poets & Writers, and The Wall Street Journal. His books to date are A Voice for My Grandmother (poetic memoir, Ten Penny Players/ bardpress, 2nd ed, 2007); The Second Kingdom (three novellas, Cantarabooks, 2009); The Rented Pet (novella, Piker Press/Kindle Select/Akorin Books, 2012); Look to Mountains, Look to Sea (poetry, River Otter Press, Aug. 1, 2013); and From a Small Fish in the Floating World (ekphrastic writings, Akorin Books, 2014). Another title is forthcoming: Uhuru Revisited: Interviews with African Pro-Democracy Leaders (Africa World Press/Red Sea Press). Singer’s serial thriller, Geistmann, and his serial farce, The Parents We Deserve, can both be read at jukepopserials.com. Singer is always giving readings at bookstores, cafes, and libraries. Among the more exotic locales have been a state park and a town hall in Maine, and the University of KwaZulu Natal (the Dennis Brutus commemoration).

Singer is currently teaching a course called Logic & Writing to groups of students and teachers. The goals are critical reading and writing skills, as applied to social and political issues.
