Bio: 

Nathan Long earned a MA in cultural studies from Carnegie Mellon and an MFA in creative writing from Virginia Commonwealth University. His interests extend to the intersection of fiction and queer theory, and he has published and presented on this subject both in the U.S. and abroad. For four years, Nathan lived on a queer commune in rural Tennessee and later co-founded The Richmond Queer Space Project, a queer community center in Richmond, VA. He has published in every genre and has led dozens of college and community creative writing courses. Nathan is a regular contributor to The Sun and has work in Tin House, Glimmer Train, Natural Bridge, Indiana Review, Story Quarterly, as well as many other journals and anthologies. He lives in Philadelphia and teaches creative writing at Richard Stockton College of NJ.

Nathan Long’s work has won him a Truman Capote Literary Trust Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize nomination, two Bread Loaf scholarships, and a Mellon Foundation Fellowship to study at the Salzburg Seminars in Austria. He has also had the opportunity to attend residencies at The Vermont Studio Center, Ucross Foundation, and Eastern Frontier Foundation.
