Bio: 

Dixon Hearne teaches and writes in southern California, though his writing draws greatly from the rich images in his daily life growing up along the graceful river traces and bayous in West Monroe, Louisiana. His short story collection, Plantatia: High-toned and Lowdown Stories of the South (Southeast Missouri University Press), received the 2010 Creative Spirit Award-Platinum for best fiction book. He is editor of Thanksgiving to Christmas: A Patchwork of Stories, and two recent anthologies of southern fiction. His stories, many of which have earned awards, can be found in Mature Living, Louisiana Literature, Cream City Review, Wisconsin Review, Big Muddy, Hawai'i Pacific Review and many other magazines, journals and anthologies. New work includes stories in Christmas Traditions and Woodstock Revisited—from Adams Media. His poetry has also received several awards. He is currently at work on a novel and another short story collection.
