A nine-month fellowship is given annually to a Christian writer of poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction to complete a first book. The fellowship, valued at $25,000, includes a $5,000 stipend, a teaching salary of approximately $7,900, a private apartment, and health insurance. Writers who are U.S. citizens and have completed an MFA in creative writing or an MA in creative writing, English, or the humanities are eligible. The fellowship will take place on the campus of Seattle Pacific University from September 15, 2017, to June 15, 2018. Fellows will teach courses in the SPU English department and will give a reading and a lecture at events hosted by Image. Submit 8 to 12 poems or 30 to 50 pages of prose, a book proposal, an author bio, a brief explanation of goals, and three letters of recommendation (sent directly to Image by the references) with a $25 entry fee by March 15. Send an SASE, call, e-mail, or visit the website for the required entry form and complete guidelines.
