A prize of $1,500 and publication in Louisiana Literature is given annually for a short story by a writer who has not published a full-length book of fiction. The winner also receives domestic airfare of up to $500, private lodging, and an invitation to read at the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival in March 2020. Maurice Carlos Ruffin will judge. Submit a story of up to 7,000 words with a $25 entry fee by October 1. All entries are considered for publication in a festival anthology.
