A prize of $1,000 and publication in Chautauqua, the Chautauqua Institution's literary journal, will be given annually for a poem, a short story, an essay, or a piece of flash fiction or nonfiction that captures the issue's theme as well as the spirit of the Chautauqua Institution. The theme of the 2019 issue is "Moxie." The editors will judge. Using the online submission system, submit three poems totaling no more than eight pages or up to 7,000 words of prose with a $3 entry fee by April 15. All entries are considered for publication.
