Editorial Focus

We're looking for collections that make us swoon with their gut-wrenching honesty, vibrant beauty and clear-eyes visions of the world. We are open to all subject matter and all styles, but we lean towards accessible lyric-narrative poems that experiment with and push the boundaries of craft and content. We want to read poems that jolt us, provoke us and delight us--in other words, poems that make us wish we’d written them.

Tips From the Editor

Established in 2005, YellowJacket Press (YJP) is an independent small poetry press and Florida's premier publisher of poetry chapbook manuscripts. We sponsor statewide contests for poets in Florida and the US. YJP sponsors the annual YellowJacket Press Chapbook Contest  for Florida Poets (OCT-DEC) and the Annual Peter Meinke Prize for US citizens (summer).  Manuscripts should be no longer than 24 pages, including title page, table of contents, dedications and acknowledgments. See website for details on each contest.
