Lighthouse Writers Workshop is the largest nonprofit literary center in Colorado and the Mountain West. Since 1997, they have offered writing instruction and workshops in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, screenwriting, playwriting, and many other genres. A community-based center for the art and craft of writing, they also offer master classes, seminars on publishing, a year-long fellowship, and off-site retreats, as well as sponsor the annual Lighthouse Lit Fest conference. Their public events include the monthly Writer’s Buzz (a series of free events with ever-evolving topics) and the Draft Reading Series (which celebrates the diversity and talent in our workshops). Studio space for writers is also available.
Find details about every creative writing competition—including poetry contests, short story competitions, essay contests, awards for novels, grants for translators, and more—that we’ve published in the Grants & Awards section of Poets & Writers Magazine during the past year. We carefully review the practices and policies of each contest before including it in the Writing Contests database, the most trusted resource for legitimate writing contests available anywhere.
