Our Mission Fiction Southeast is an online literary journal dedicated to short fiction. The mission of Fiction Southeast is to showcase fiction from today’s most promising writers, and to create an online literary journal that allows readers to quickly and easily access quality writing from their laptops, iPads, and cell phones. Since electronic reading devices (and to some extent laptops for that matter) make reading long pieces of writing less enjoyable, we have chosen to dedicate the journal to flash fiction.

While we are interested in fiction that depicts a variety of southern traditions and landscapes, we DO NOT wish to limit the journal to only southern writers. Writers from other parts of the country are encouraged to submit their work. Though we hope for creative and innovative writing, we don’t prefer one particular style or genre of writing. The only criterion we look for is quality.
