The seventh annual DISQUIET International Literary Program, sponsored by Dzanc Books and Fundação Luso-Americana, will be held from June 25 to July 7 in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as lectures, craft talks, and literary walks. The faculty includes poets Erica Dawson, Denise Duhamel, and Terri Witek; fiction writers Molly Antopol, Jensen Beach, Annie Liontas, and Robert Olmstead; and nonfiction writer Chanan Tigay. Tuition is $1,950; lodging and meals are not included. The Dzanc Books annual literary contest, valued at $5,000, includes full tuition, airfare, and lodging, and will be given to a poet, fiction writer, or creative nonfiction writer. Submit up to six poems totaling no more than 10 pages or up to 20 pages of prose with a $15 entry fee by January 31. Four full scholarships are also available for North American writers of Luso descent. Submit up to 10 pages of poetry or prose and a personal statement by February 15. There is no application fee. For general conference applications, submit up to 10 pages of poetry or prose and a refundable $150 tuition deposit. Financial aid is available. Admission is made on a rolling basis.
