Lantern Review [1]
Lantern Review aims to provide a virtual space in which to showcase Asian American poetry and to engage with issues relevant to its production and dissemination. We seek to publish expertly crafted work in a variety of forms and aesthetics, including traditional and experimental pieces, hybrid forms, multimedia work, and new translations. We welcome pieces from anglophone writers of all ethnic backgrounds whose work interests itself in critical questions relevant to the Asian diaspora in North America, as well as work created collaboratively in a community context.
We read during limited periods of approximately 2-3 months, and accept poetry submissions ONLY through our online form (not via e-mail). We are open to submissions from writers of all ethnic backgrounds. Your submission does not have to directly address a “big question” about Asian American identity; nor does it have to take place in America or Asia (in fact, we particularly like work that breaks expected notions of what “Asian American poetry” is or can be). However, please keep in mind that we are seeking to publish work that engages with critical questions directly relevant to our mission.
