The 38th annual Kentucky Women Writers Conference was held on September 16 and September 17 at the Carnegie Center in Lexington. The conference featured workshops and craft talks in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The faculty included poets Natalie Diaz, Lisa Russ Spaar, and Bianca Spriggs; fiction writers Danielle Dutton, Dana Spiotta, and Crystal Wilkinson; and nonfiction writer Mary Karr. Tuition, which included conference registration and a workshop, was $200. General registration was $125; the cost for students was $30. Fifteen-minute manuscript consultations with literary agents were available for an additional $45. The application deadline was August 12.
