The 29th annual Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers was held from July 10 to July 16 at the Wallowa Lake Camp and Retreat Center in Wallowa Lake, Oregon. The program featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panel discussions, readings, and open mics. The theme for the 2016 conference was “Frontiers and Fences.” The faculty included poets Erika L. Sánchez and Joe Wilkins; fiction writers Karen Fisher and Laura Pritchett; nonfiction writers Justin Hocking, Marjorie Sandor, and Jane Vandenburgh; and poet and nonfiction writer John Daniel. Tuition ranged from $230 for a weekend pass to $750 for a five-day workshop. Lodging was available at the Wallowa Lake Camp, and ranged from $100 per week for tent camping to $850 per week for a shared cabin. Meals ranged from $66 for lunches to $250 for all meals.
