Poetic excellence is our only criterion at Tar River Poetry. For over 30 years we have published new and emerging writers along with National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winners.

We do not consider hard-copy submissions; all submissions must come through our Submittable submissions manager during one of our two month-long reading periods (Sept 1-Sept 30 or Feb 1-Feb 28). We do not charge a reading fee, but subscribers do receive expedited editorial decisions. See our website for details.
