The program offers graduate assistantships and scholarships.
The program is a sequential MA/MFA program where students first complete the studio/mentor MA and produce a full-length manuscript.
The program offers the MA in screenwriting, playwriting, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, documentary film, and publishing. The faculty in playwriting includes Bonnie Culver, Jean Klein, Jan Quackenbush, Gregory Fletcher, Juanita Rockwell, and Robert Arthur. The faculty in screenwriting includes Richard Uhlig, Ross Klavan, Ken Vose, Robert May, Michael Mailer, and Susan Cartsonis.
All manuscripts are read and reviewed by an outside reader who is an agent, publisher, producer, or editor. All students also gives a public reading of their manuscript. For fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, graduates read cuttings from their manuscripts and do a Q&A; screenwriters hear a table reading of their script followed by a talkback with producers; playwrights participate in a professional staged reading at the Dramatists Guild, NYC followed by a talkback.

The application deadline for the January residency is December 15 (December 1 to be considered for a Graduate Assistantship); the deadline for the June residency is May 15 (May 1 to be considered for a Graduate Assistantship).
