Bio: 

Danita Dodson is a poet and literary scholar. Her critical articles have been published in various journals. She is the author of two books of poetry: The Medicine Woods (2022) and Trailing the Azimuth (2021). Dodson is also co-editor of the pedagogical volume Teachers Teaching Nonviolence (2020). She holds a PhD in English from the University of Southern Mississippi, specializing in 20th-century literature. Combining a love of scholarship and diverse experiences, Dodson has been a Fulbright-Hays fellow in Turkey, a professor in Nicaragua, an amateur archaeologist in the Southwest, and a Spanish teacher in Appalachia. She lives in the Cumberland Gap region of East Tennessee, where she teaches English and Humanities as an adjunct professor at Walters State Community College.
