Rune Bear is a digital literary magazine devoted to the Strange, Surreal, Supernatural, and Speculative. This includes all horror, science-fiction, slipstream, all-the-punks, fantasy, myth, and strange thoughts, as long as the content is under 300-words and forms some kind of narrative.

We are looking for stories in concentrate, although with a little pulp, too. All pieces, whether they are prose or poetry, should be under three hundred words. We find this allows writers to explore clever ideas without having to expand them beyond their natural limits, to diminish potency by stretching out a strange writ or dream-put-to-paper. In three hundreds, we want a glimpse of another world, perhaps some freak or fate or finish that stays in our thoughts all day and keeps us up all at night.
