Students attend two eight-day residencies each year, in January and July/August, at the Miami University campus in Oxford, Ohio. Each residency features craft talks and readings from program mentors, distinguished writers and agents, including Jeffery Renard Allen, Lillian-Yvonne Bertram, Heather Christle, Charles Finch, Gina Flangello, Jeff Kleinman, BK Loren, Wang Ping, Tim Seibles, and Matt Young.

Students have opportunities to work with both Oxford Magazine and Miami University Press.

Students also have the opportunity to pursue a mixed genre or hybrid course of study.
