Affiliated Publications/Publishers: 

Hofstra’s English Department is home to two literary journals, Windmill, published five times a year, and AMP: Journal of Digital Literature. Both offer fellowships and opportunities for students to showcase their publishing and writing talents to a wider audience.

Other Features: 

This program also offers a concentration in playwriting, and hosts the Great Writers, Great Readings series, which notable authors to campus to give readings and meet with students.

Hofstra recently launched an MFA in Creative Writing for Writers of Spanish, which draws on the talents and experiences of faculty from Hofstra’s departments of English and Romance Languages and Literatures. The program is the first of its kind on Long Island and the second in the New York metropolitan area.

The priority deadline for scholarship consideration for the spring term is January 1; the priority deadline for the fall term is February 15. Applications received after February 15 are accepted on a rolling basis.
