Wendy’s Subway

Literary Archive, Reading Venue, Writers Space, Writing Center

Wendy’s Subway is a nonprofit library and workspace that hosts a range of public programs, including interdisciplinary readings and screenings, talks and lectures, discussion and reading groups, writing workshops, and free courses. Its noncirculating library holds a collection of books and documents with a special focus on poetry, art, theory, and philosophy, as well as the Laurin Raiken Archive, an extensive resource for the study of art history and criticism. Wendy’s Subway is operated by its membership of over thirty poets, curators, novelists, artists, and critics with an interest in hybrid forms and cross-disciplinary discourse. For a monthly fee, members have access to the space, to read, write, and work independently.
