Editorial Focus

Talking Writing is a nonprofit digital magazine that publishes four issues a year, featuring stories, poetry, and journalism. Every issue of Talking Writing is devoted to a theme, such as "Distraction" or "Writing and Faith." TW's mission is to promote passionate writing and reading in the new media world—and we welcome provocative essays, serious talk about literature, and engaging personal stories.

Tips From the Editor

Please read our submissions guidelines for different sections of the magazine. Writers are encouraged to query us about writing commentaries for issue themes, which can be previewed on our "TW's Editorial Calendar" page. TW also awards one or two Talking Writing Prizes annually. The submission deadline for contests is usually October 1. Check the TW site for contest details.
