Editorial Focus
Our goal is to become a subscription-driven tri-annual journal. The issues will be glossy-cover and perfect-bound, containing 100-200 pages of poetry. We hope our website will become a virtual gathering place for all of Pittsburgh poetry, including a calendar of events, a directory of local open workshops, and other info that can't wait for the print edition. We'll also feature poems from contributors on our site as well. We will strive to be inclusive of traditionally underrepresented communities, including, but not limited to women, POC, LGBQT
Tips From the Editor
The biggest thing people misunderstand is, you don't need to be from Pittsburgh to be published in the Pittsburgh Poetry Review. Poems about Pittsburgh are fine, but not primarily what we are looking for. We simply want the best poems we can find, regardless of genre or location, poems that make us sit up and take notice. We prefer shorter (1 to 2 pages) poems, but we will consider any length with a query first. In addition, we are very interested in series of poems and linked poems. We are willing to publish several pieces from single poets. Collaborative work is welcome too.
