Writing With Nature As Our Muse

05/19/2024 - 11:00am to 1:30pm EDT
Fiction/Creative Nonfiction

During this workshop, we’ll immerse ourselves in the connection between the natural environment and our own creativity, finding inspiration in the abundant sights, sounds, and sensations of nature. In addition to imaginative writing exercises and prompts, this workshop will include a brief guided meditation and a taste of SoulCollage®, an expressive arts method that enhances creativity and intuitively leads to unexpected ideas. We’ll be directed through the fun process of making a simple collage, then use that creation as inspiration for further writing. A background in art is not required, just the willingness to explore an enchanting creative method that can support your writing! Photographer Robbie George said “Every journey into nature speaks more than a thousand words.” Let’s tune into nature’s power and gather some of those words together!

This workshop is a fundraiser for Amherst Writers & Artists. All proceeds will go towards the organization's scholarships, outreach, and social justice initiatives.
