The Fall Migration Course, a novella writing workshop

10/17/2017 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Poetry/Fiction/Creative Nonfiction

In this bi-weekly class, we’ll meet 1.5 hours in person on Tuesday nights and 1 hour online Sunday evenings to create the first draft of a short novel. We’ll spend the first three weeks building the foundation for our books—researching, creating character sketches, developing setting and plot—and the second three weeks writing.

During the height of fall migration, birds are on the move every day. Using prompts and each other's support, we’ll aim to write a thousand words daily, ultimately writing over 20,000 words, the bulk of a novella. This class is ideal for seasoned and amateur writers who produce more with the aids of structure and a community of peers.
