Dixon Place Presents The Guerrilla Lit Reading Series
We are pleased to announce that our reading scheduled for Wednesday, November 15 will feature Mylène Dressler, Gordon Haber, and Victoria Redel.
The reading will occur in the lounge at Dixon Place at 7:30 PM. The event is FREE and open to the public.
Mylène Dressler is the critically acclaimed author of the novels, The Last to See Me, The Medusa Tree, The Deadwood Beetle, and The Floodmakers. Her short stories and essays have appeared in the Kenyon Review, Literary Hub, the Washington Post and many other journals and magazines, and her literary awards include the Carson McCullers Fellowship, the Paisano Fellowship in Literature, and the Fulbright Award. She is a professor of writing and literature at Guilford College. She lives in Greensboro, North Carolina and in Moab, Utah.
Victoria Redel is an American poet and fiction writer who lives in New York City. She is the author of five books of fiction: Before Everything, Make Me Do Things, The Border of Truth, Loverboy and Where the Road Bottoms Out and three books of poetry: Woman Without Umbrella, Swoon, and Already the World. She has taught at Columbia University, Vermont College and is currently on the faculty of Sarah Lawrence College.
Gordon Haber’s short fiction has appeared, among other places, in The Rumpus and The Normal School, and as three best-selling Kindle Singles. His story collection, UGGS FOR GAZA, will be published Summer 2017. His nonfiction on the nexus of religion and culture can be seen in The Forward, Religion and Politics and Religion Dispatches. His awards include a Fulbright Fellowship, a Queens Community Arts Fund grant and a MacDowell Colony residence. In addition to writing, Gordon founded the e-book publishing company, Dutch Kills Press. He does not live in Brooklyn.
The Dixon Place Lounge is open before, during and after the show. Bar proceeds directly support DP’s artists and mission.
