The 28th Annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway, which will take place January 14-17, 2022, at the Seaview Hotel in Galloway, NJ. Guggenheim Fellow and National Endowment for the Arts recipient Patrick Rosal will be the featured writer.
Beginner and experienced writers may choose from workshops in fiction, memoir, nonfiction, poetry, playwriting and songwriting. The sliding scale tuition includes a 15-hour writing workshop and most meals. Attendees also have the opportunity to participate in open mics, tutorials, networking, sunrise yoga, dancing at the Getaway Disco, and writerly camaraderie.
Seven scholarships will be awarded to first-time participants:
- The Toni Brown Memorial Scholarship will offer four scholarships to poets or writers aged 30 and over.
- The Robert Hayden Scholarship will fund three poets or writers between the ages of 18 and 29. At least two of these scholarships will be awarded to poets or writers of color.
