Phillips Exeter Academy (PEA) is a co-educational, independent boarding school in Exeter, New Hampshire, located one hour north of Boston.  PEA has a tradition of excellence, and a student centered pedagogy known as Harkness teaching. Job Details
To assist, for one year, a candidate who hopes to make a professional career of writing.  The Fellowship honors the memory of George Bennett ’23, who taught English at the Academy from 1929 to 1965, and aims to perpetuate his strong interest in creative writing.  The Fellowship was established by a former student of George Bennett.  The stipend is $16,800, plus housing and meals.  This position also offers medical and dental insurance, long-term disability coverage and access to an employee assistance program.   To work towards the completion of a manuscript of a book; and at times to be accessible for conversation with students interested in writing, while residing in Exeter, New Hampshire, for the academic year, September-June.  No specific duties beyond these are required.  The candidate must demonstrate a professional interest in writing and must have a manuscript in progress that he or she needs freedom to complete.
