Workshop Leaders: The Lamplighter Literary Arts Summer Writing Institute

Workshop Leaders (Faculty)

Northfield Mount Hermon School will launch its inaugural Lamplighter Literary Arts Summer Writing Institute in July 2021 –– via an online format –– for writers entering grades 7-12. The Institute seeks faculty to provide instruction and mentorship by leading workshops in ONE of the following areas: fiction, poetry, play/screenwriting, or journalism. Depending on enrollment figures, students may be separated into two age groups, grades 7-9 and 10-12. Workshop leaders will inspire students in a synchronous (25 contact hours) and asynchronous course of study spread over two weeks. Successful applicants will demonstrate a desire to serve as a role model for young writers and a dedication to their art. Applicants must be comfortable teaching remotely via ZOOM and be prepared to do so. Teaching experience and publication is strongly preferred. College-aged assistant workshop leaders may be hired to assist with instruction and feedback, so the desire to mentor a young instructor is a plus.
