JuxtaProse Literary Magazine

Poetry Intern

JuxtaProse is an online literary journal that publishes fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. We pride ourselves on featuring work from emerging writers alongside material from some of the most respected voices in contemporary literature. Previous contributors include Pulitzer Prize, Man Booker Prize, and National Book Critics Circle Award winners, as well as over thirty contributors to the Best American series. Material originally published in JuxtaProse has been reprinted in collections published by HarperCollins and Penguin. JuxtaProse currently enjoys a monthly readership of approximately 5,000.

We are seeking to expand our current staff by bringing on two poetry interns to help ease the workload on our poetry editors. Please note that these are unpaid positions. As a predominately online publication, our staff serve remotely and telecommute to a weekly meeting held each Thursday at 7:30 pm Mountain Time (6:30 pm Pacific, 9:30 pm Eastern). The selected individual will be required to attend the meeting each week and will also assist our editors in reading submissions, maintaining records, corresponding with authors, and contributing to our blog and social media channels. The ideal candidate will have previous literary journal experience. Please send resumes to editor@juxtaprosemagazine.org.

The deadline for applications is October 15. Applicants must be available for a minimum six month commitment. This is an unpaid position.
