ALA is seeking a Marketing Associate to join Booklist Publications, a unit of ALA publishing.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Marketing Associate maximizes outreach to support and help grow more than $3 million in annual advertising, sponsorship, and subscription revenue by writing, creating and disseminating timely marketing materials that clearly communicate Booklist publications’ and products’ unique, sustainable, compelling, competitive advantages.
In addition, this position helps the Marketing Director manage marketing projects as well as promote and assist in producing the sponsored-webinar and live event programs. He or she will complete additional marketing tasks, and provide support to the Booklist Marketing Director, including report generation, as well as contribution to Booklist's blog and social media assets.
Accuracy, attention to detail, and superior organizational skills are essential. The ability to independently prioritize work and meet competing deadlines is critical in this position. Genuine enthusiasm for working with diverse staff, advertisers and juggling many tasks will be standard for this position.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Manage all logistics of assigned webinars to include: Create PowerPoint, title lists, and other webinar materials for attendees. Serve as program director for webinars and live events, speaking directly with panelists and advertisers.
- Assist in creation of specialized eblasts, contribution of content for the Booklist Reader blog, and custom content for advertisers
- Create, distribute, and participate in the strategic analysis of various sales and marketing reports
Salary: Negotiable from the low 40s; based on relevant work experience. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes medical, dental, generous paid vacation, and retirement annuity.
