Symphony Space is currently accepting applications from matriculating students for season-long internships in Literature beginning this September and ending May 2020.
The Literature Intern provides assistance to Symphony Space producers in all aspects of literary department programs including Selected Shorts: Let Us Tell You A Story, a 12-program live series with readings by actors; Thalia Book Club, a series that brings authors into conversation with the audience about new books and classics; Thalia Kids Book Club for ages 9–12; Selected Shorts Radio Series, a 52-week series broadcast on public radio stations nationwide; Uptown Showdown, a comedy debate series; Selected Shorts on Tour; Bloomsday on Broadway; and Selected Shorts: All Write!, a program produced with the Education Department.
The Symphony Space Internship Program offers excellent professional/educational experience and training in the areas of arts administration and production. All interns are individually supervised by department staff and have regular consultations with our Internship Coordinator. Symphony Space interns actively participate in day-to-day operations, department and bi-weekly staff meetings, and career development seminars and field trips. College credits may be available.
20–25 hours per week, plus select events; $75/week.
