Western Colorado University invites applications for a full time, one-year appointment as Lecturer of Creative Writing in English in the Department of Communication Arts, Languages and Literature.
A tenure-track Assistant Professor position will likely be announced for the following academic year.
Duties: Teaching responsibilities consist of lower and upper-division creative writing courses and two composition courses. Upper-division courses include senior Advanced Writing and Magazine Production. This is a 12-credit hour per semester teaching load with additional responsibilities for advising, WordHorde, the faculty-advised student-run slam poetry and fiction performance troupe, which hosts the Contemporary Writer Series.

Qualifications: PhD in English, Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing or Masters (MA) in English or related field. Must have experience in creative writing and thorough grounding in critical/literary analysis. Must have excellent record of teaching experience in creative writing and/or composition. Enthusiasm for recruiting English majors required. Experience in poetry helpful.
Salary/Benefits: Salary range is $37,000–MA or $38,000–PhD or MFA. Benefits include an employee/employer shared contribution retirement plan and life and health insurance.
