Literary Affairs of Los Angeles is seeking a new facilitator for our book-club discussions and we hope you are the perfect fit. Our company is unique in its commitment to offering a full range of services tailored to the literary lifestyle, including book clubs and conversations with acclaimed authors. Our facilitators run over 50 book clubs per month all over Los Angeles. Each of us feels that reading books enriches our lives, makes us more human and helps us better understand and have compassion for the world we live in.
A book-club facilitator must have a passion for contemporary and classic fiction, be a fast and thorough reader, have excellent teaching and presentation skills, be reliable, friendly and polite. Book clubs meet both days and evenings and last for 90 minutes each. We are currently looking for someone available to lead book groups during the day. The facilitator guides the discussion, fosters conversation, poses interesting and relevant questions, and generates excitement for the text. A professional demeanor is key, as is a true love for the literature we present to our groups. Our current facilitators are mostly PhD candidates and writers with higher degrees.
Compensation is excellent, which is why we seek out the very best teachers and students of literature to join our team. Starting pay begins at $200 per book club and there is an opportunity to lead multiple book groups per month based on your availability. Facilitator must live in Los Angeles. Please forward CV and letter to email@example.com to be considered.
