The Department of English at the University of Minnesota invites applications for an assistant professor of Creative Writing: tenure-track, 2/2 course load, beginning fall semester 2018. We are looking for a writer with strengths in both creative nonfiction and poetry.
Required qualifications: (1) The MA, MFA, or PhD in Creative Writing, English (PhD), or a related field, with degree in hand by August 27, 2018; (2) at least one volume of work published with a national or international press in either creative nonfiction or poetry, with significant work published in the alternate genre; (3) college/university-level teaching experience.
Preferred qualifications: evidence of potential for continued success as a published writer; ability to work with graduate students individually and to direct MFA theses; ability to teach courses in undergraduate creative writing and literature; and experience/expertise in editing/publishing.
