The Department of English at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Developmental Writing and Academic Literacy to begin in August 2019. We are especially interested in candidates whose teaching and scholarship is in developmental writing within English, especially with Freshmen. The successful candidate will join a collegial department of twenty-five full-time faculty. The English major includes emphases in literature, professional and technical writing, and English teaching and literature. Opportunities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, scholarly work, and departmental service. The successful candidate will teach rhetoric and composition classes and will also be invited to revise existing courses as needed. PhD in English (or closely related field) and experience teaching English at the college level are required. ABD candidates considered if degree will be completed by hire date.
