The Department of English in the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts at Loyola Marymount University seeks candidates for a tenure line faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning the Fall semester of 2023. The successful candidate should have experience teaching fiction writing workshops and literature courses at the college level and a significant record of fiction publication in nationally recognized venues.

The position involves undergraduate teaching in the University Core, the English Studies Major and Minor programs, and the MA Studies in English program. The teaching load is 2-2-2-3 over two years (i.e., two classes per regular semester and three classes every fourth semester). The successful candidate will contribute to the administration and development of our Creative Writing Program, mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in service at the department level or above. Applicants must show promise of excellence in teaching, writing, and publication. A Ph.D. or MFA is required. However, ABD applicants who anticipate completing the doctorate by Fall 2022 will also be considered.
