The Department of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks two poets for full-time, tenure-track or tenured positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor levels, depending on qualifications and experience, and consistent with university policy. Qualified applicants will hold an MFA or Ph.D. in English or Creative Writing (Poetry), and should be writers with excellent records of publication and demonstrated experience or interest in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Significant national or international publications in literary journals and/or anthologies, and a minimum of one full-length poetry collection published or under contract is required.
The successful candidate will teach four courses per academic year and participate fully in all activities of the Program in Creative Writing, including serving in rotation as one of the directors of the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate components. Other responsibilities include advising graduate students, continuing research and publication, and participating in department service.
