The Advertising Manager reports to the Director of Publications and manages all advertisement-related duties for the Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP)—the Writer’s Chronicle, the Conference Program, the Conference Planner, the eNewsletter, and ads on the AWP Website.
Regular duties include:
- marketing/business —ad drives, collection of revenues, sending tear sheets, etc.
- research/thought leadership—maintaining the advertising database and updating contacts, generating ideas and strategies for advertisement
- multitasking/creative thinking—maintaining good professional relations with advertising clients, printing vendors, AWP membership, board, staff, and the faculty, staff, and students of the host institutions we serve
- and other duties as requested by the Director of Publications or the Executive Director.
Education and Qualifications: Undergraduate degree is required. Having an MFA or background in English Literature and Language would be a plus, and candidates with a demonstrated passion for the creative writing community will be favored. Candidates with some knowledge of literary magazines and presses are also encouraged to apply.

Salary: $40,000 to $45,000 /year
