Academic Journals Production Editor Internship

The internship period is from June 8 to August 14, 2020, working 20 hours a week at $15/hour. 

 About the role:

You will assist production editors in coordination of all editorial-production and manufacturing aspects of journal production from receipt of manuscript through distribution of journal, including review of copyediting/proofreading, trafficking of proofs, and preparation of copy for press.  Additionally, you will help brainstorm and take forward departmental projects that will help us innovate, refresh, and refine our workflows, databases, and team resources.

You will learn best practices for publishing allocated issues and articles online and in print to schedule, within budget and to agreed quality levels.

You will liaise with editors, managing editors, authors, and internal teams (marketing, ad sales, supply chain, etc.) recognizing the key role the production editor has to play in customer relations management.

You will have the opportunity to choose areas of the business that particularly interest you so that we can tailor your work/projects accordingly and support your career interests/passions.

  • A detail-oriented, efficient, and entrepreneurial. mind
  • The ability to learn, absorb, and interpret diverse types of data from multiple sources.
  • A proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Business Intelligence, and salesforce is a plus.
