Author's Bio

Allene Nichols lives in Dallas, Texas, where she teaches at Richland College and at the University of Texas at Dallas. She has a doctorate in humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas, where her studies focused on American poetry and drama, popular culture, gender studies, and queer studies. She is particularly interested in how literature and media represent intersectional identities and what those representations say about the culture that produces them. She is an avid backpacker and photographer. Her poetry has appeared in many journals and anthologies, including: Veils, Halos, and Shackles and Impossible Archetype. Her plays have been published and performed throughout the United States.
