Writing Workshops LA: The Conference was held on June 28 at the Autry National Center in Los Angeles. The conference offered workshops, craft discussions, and publishing presentations for fiction and nonfiction writers. Participating writers included fiction writers Natashia Deón, Julia Fierro, Michelle Huneven, Kate Maruyama, Ivy Pochoda, Joanna Rakoff, Clarissa Romano, Mark Haskell Smith, David L. Ulin, Darcy Vebber, Diana Wagman, Margaret Wappler, Caeli Widger, and Adam Wilson; and nonfiction writers Gayle Brandeis, Chris Daley and Claire Bidwell Smith. Participating publishing professionals included Patrick Brown of Goodreads, Chiwan Choi of Writ Large Press, Deena Drewis of Nouvella, Rae Dubow of Talking Out Loud, Daniel Gumbiner of McSweeney's, Erin Hosier of Dunow, Carlson & Lerner, Carolyn Kellogg of the Los Angeles Times, Edan Lepucki of Writing Workshops Los Angeles, Michelle Meyering of PEN Center USA, Bonnie Nadell of Hill Nadell Literary Agency, Jennifer Pooley, Miranda Popkey of Farrar, Straus and Giroux, Daniel Smetanka of Counterpoint Press, Allie Sommer of Little, Brown, and Monika Woods of InkWell.
