The 34th annual Writers at Work Conference was held from June 6 to June 10 at the Alta Lodge in Alta, Utah. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as craft lectures, panel discussions, hikes, and time to write. The faculty included poet Paisley Rekdal, fiction writer Mat Johnson, and creative nonfiction writer Tessa Fontaine. One-on-one manuscript consultations with poet J. P. Grasser and editor Michael Mejia (Western Humanities Review and Ninebark Press) were also available. The cost of the conference was $750, which included tuition and all meals. Lodging was available at the conference hotel and ranges from $115 for a shared dorm to $285 for a private room.
