The 24th annual Virginia Festival of the Book was held from March 21 to March 25, 2018, in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia, to celebrate books and promote literacy. The festival featured readings, panels, discussions with writers and publishing professionals, book signings, and film screenings. Participating writers included poets Michael Chitwood, Rita Dove, and Ansel Elkins; fiction writers Edwidge Danticat, David Baldacci, and John Grisham; and creative nonfiction writers Jennifer Ackerman, Matthew Gibson, and David McCullough.
