The 2018 U.S. Poets in Mexico Conference was held from January 7 to January 12, 2018, at ESAY in Mérida, Yucatan, Mexico. The conference featured workshops in poetry and translation, talks, and nightly readings. The faculty included poets CAConrad, Hoa Nguyen, Joshua Edwards, Dale Smith, writer, vocalist and sound artist LaTasha N. Nevada Diggs, and translator David Shook. Featured Mexican poets included Daniela Camacho, José Eugenio Sánchez and Xánath Caraza. Tuition, which included workshops, a city tour, discussions, and a manuscript consultation, is $750. Lodging was available at the nearby Hotel Caribe for approximately $60 per night. Evening readings were free and open to the public.
