The 48th annual University of North Dakota Writers Conference was held from March 22 to March 24 on the University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This year’s theme was “Citizen.” The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panel discussions and readings. Participating authors and editors included poets Mai Der Vang and Layli Long Soldier; fiction writers NoViolet Bulawayo, Jennine Capó Crucet, and Viet Thanh Nguyen; and editor Jeff Shotts of Graywolf Press. Most events were held at the university’s Memorial Union, and all events were free and open to the public. Workshop space was limited to twenty participants; registration was first come, first served. Lodging was available for discounted rates at nearby hotels. Visit the website for more information.
