The 50th annual University of North Dakota Writers Conference was held from March 20 to March 22 on the University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panel discussions and readings. Participating writers included poets Heid E. Erdrich and Sally Wen Mao, fiction writers Kiese Laymon and Tommy Orange, and nonfiction writer Sarah Smarsh. The conference was free, but workshop space was limited to twenty participants; registration was first come, first served. Lodging was available for discounted rates at nearby hotels.
