The 2019 Slice Literary Writers’ Conference was held from September 7 to September 8 at St. Francis College in downtown Brooklyn, New York. The conference featured workshops, panels, and one-on-one agent meetings for fiction and nonfiction writers. Fiction and nonfiction writers Mira Jacob and Kiese Laymon delivered the keynotes. Participating publishing professionals included agents Amy Elizabeth Bishop (Dystel, Goderich & Bourret), Sarah Bowlin (Aevitas Creative Management), Reiko Davis (DeFiore & Company), Stephanie Delman (Greenburger Associates), Mitch Hoffman (Aaron Priest Literary Agency), Annie Hwang (Folio Literary Management), Heather Jackson (Heather Jackson Literary Agency), Jacqueline Ko (Wylie Agency), Ayesha Pande (Ayesha Pande Literary), Anjali Singh (Ayesha Pande Literary), and DongWon Song (Howard Morhaim Literary Agency). The cost of the conference was $375 for both days or $275 for one day; students received a $50 discount. Agent meetings were an additional $100 to $175; workshops were $50. Using the online submission system, writers submitted an application form and a writing sample of 250 to 500 words. Admissions were made on a rolling basis.
