Author's Bio

Ruth Goring’s poetry collections are Yellow Doors (WordFarm, 2003) and Soap Is Political (Glass Lyre, 2015). Her poems have also appeared in CALYX, Pilgrimage, RHINO, New Madrid, Iron Horse Literary Review, Reunion, Crab Orchard Review, and elsewhere. In 2017 her first children's picture book, Adriana's Angels, was published by Sparkhouse Family; a Spanish edition, Los Angeles de Adriana, was released simultaneously and won a silver Moonbeam Award in the Spanish Book category. Having grown up in Colombia, she has provided accompaniment and advocacy to peace communities in that country. She works in the books division of the University of Chicago Press and teaches advanced manuscript editing in the Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies.
