The 34th annual Miami Book Fair was held from November 12 to November 19 at the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College in downtown Miami. The festival featured readings in English, Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole by more than 500 authors from around the world, as well as panel discussions, performances, and special events and activities with local programs such as Kitchen Stadium, Generation Genius, and the Porch. Participating authors included poets Frank Bidart, Robert Hass, Paul Muldoon, Charles Simic, Gerald Stern, and Kevin Young; fiction writers Isabel Allende, Edwidge Danticat, Min Jin Lee, Armistead Maupin, and Lisa See; cartoonist Gene Luen Yang; and nonfiction writer and musician Patti Smith.
