The 2019 Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference was held from July 19 to July 21 at the Hilton Dallas/Fort Worth Lakes Executive Conference Center in Grapevine, Texas. The conference theme this year was “Justice in America.” The conference featured workshops in creative nonfiction as well as panel discussions, lectures, and pitch sessions with agents. Participating writers included fiction writers Ben Fountain and Walter Kirn and nonfiction writers Laura Bell, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Sonia Nazario, Naveena Sadasivam, Albert Samaha, and Margot Lee Shetterly. Participating agents included Farley Chase (Chase Literary) and BJ Robbins (BJ Robbins Literary). Tuition, which included meals, was $475. Pitch sessions with agents were available for an additional $50. Lodging at the conference hotel was available for $118 per night. Registration was first come, first served.
